In fact, you'll come to realize that there is tremendous satisfaction from completing the process. There are also various psychological and health benefits when you take on gardening as a hobby. By now, you may want to know how you can start your own garden. You should know which type of garden to choose from as there are a few garden types.
Gardening can basically be divided into two types- vegetable or flower planting. Serious gardeners know the difference between both and have established personal preferences regarding the type of plants they want to grow. You can grow a number of things besides flowers, shrubs, and trees. You may want to consider growing herbs, fruits, exotic plants, and ornamental grasses. A few conditions affect the type of garden that you choose. You need to consider cultural preferences, geographical differences, climate, soil type, and growing conditions. All of these affect the choice of garden types.
For example, contemporary landscaping/gardening concentrates on visual appearance and is created with minimalist concept (i.e. Zen-like gardens). Cottage or country gardens are suitable for those with space and time to spare. Roses and other colorful plants are planted within the plot. Formal gardens are defined by geometric patterns and they come in various shapes and sizes (i.e. Japanese gardens). Informal gardens are defined by a more relaxed, natural style. Often, the plants are a combination of wild and cultivated plants. More modern spaces include stone landscaping. In such garden, greenery is not the focal point. The use of other elements such as water and stones represent a deeper meaning.
The various types of gardening show that there are many creative ways to express your preferences. Through garden-building, you can create a tranquil space where you can enjoy with your family and friends.

If you live in a town home, your front and side-gardens are probably maintained by the association, and the only thing you have to call your own is a postage-stamp sized back garden, surrounded by a fence.
It's easy to landscape large gardens - you have a lot of room to work with and if one element jars its not the end of the world. But in a smaller gardening space any element out of place will stick out like the proverbial sore thumb.
Plan Your Garden
Take a sheet of graph paper and draw a to-scale plan of the area you've got to work with. You're constrained by the fence, and by any dips or extensions from your home. Include all this on your graph paper. Then take sheets of tracing paper, place those over your plan, and experiment with what kinds of flowers and shrubs you'd like to have.
Test The Soil
Soil-testing kits are inexpensive, and they are a vital tool in growing a healthy landscape. Plants grow best in slightly acidic soil - so if your test reveals that the soil is too acidic or alkaline, take corrective measures before beginning your plantings.
What To Plant
Vines and climbers: These maximize growing space in your garden, because they grow upward, rather than growing outward, taking up the scarce square footage. Because these plants grow upward, more leaves are exposed to the sunlight, which usually makes them healthier than smaller plants.
Don't let these vines or climbers do their thing on the side of your home - it may look pretty but it does tremendous damage to the walls. Your housing association will probably not want you to let those climbers and vines climbing on the fence surrounding your backyard, however this is easily solved by installing trellises right in front of the fence.
Grow 'Em and Eat 'Em
You don't have room to plant apple or pear trees, but that doesn't mean you can't grow edible food in your garden. American grapes, apple melons, asparagus beans and other types of vegetables grow best on a trellis.
Other food plants to grow on trellises are blackberries, raspberrys, and chayote, and passionfruit.
Night Lights
Because your garden is right beside your home, you should design it so that you can see as much as possible from your living room windows. Highlight it at night so that you can enjoy it- but don't light too much. Never highlight or spotlight more than three plants or structures - otherwise it will look too busy.

I am trying to change the landscape around my house and I live on a large rocky surface. Need advice.?
I was wondering If I should build a rasied bed around my house to plant some flowers and some trees.
If you have plantable soil around the rocks I would not raise the bed. You should use the rocks as part of your landscape with plants and flowers mixed in. I would say the same thing about the trees but make sure the trees are not expected to grow really large. Just keep the roots in mind.

You have probably noticed that pop art is very stylish right now and more and more people are starting to buy it to hang in their homes. I studied chuck close at school. The way i did it was up loading a picture of my self, and putting a grid over the top then copped a blank grid on to paper then drew what i could see in the grid on top of my photo in each square

Coming up with good pet names can be very challenging sometimes, especially in a very large family where everyone has their own ideas about what the best name for a new pet would be. For other people, names like “Spot” or “Fluffy” get very old after a while, and people are looking for something unique and new. There are some wonderful websites online that can help with the process of selecting a special name for your new pet that reflects their character and personality well.

Bowwow is a website that is truly dedicated to the quest for the perfect pet name. There are a multitude of search options, including:

Pet Names World is another very fun pet name selection website. It is definitely geared toward children in that it features fun cartoon images and a cute poll where kids can select what animal the name “Ruth” best fits.

Cat & Dog Names
Cat & Dog Names is a somewhat simple website that allows you to browse through dog names, cat names, or mixed pet names. The unique thing about this website is that it also allows you to view lists of suggested names that are based on the appearance and features of your pet. Some of these lists are extremely long, and cover categories such as popular Irish dog names, unique Australian dog names, stray kitten names, and black cat names. There is a huge variety of other categories.
Cat Names
Cat-Names.us is a fairly large database of over 5000 unique cat names. This database allows you to search using a category of appearance or behavior, a sub-category if appropriate, and gender. These search criteria offer a list of names in the database that match those characteristics. The names in this database are actually fairly unique. Additionally, this website also offers visitors a free “custom naming guide” which walks pet owners through the process of selecting the perfect name for their cat.
Dog Names
Dog-Names.us is also a large database of over 6000 unique dog names. This database also allows you to search for dog names the same way the cat name search works. The names in this dog database are unique as well.

and was wonder where you think the best place to get it would be? Im a male and deending on where the place of it would be would depend on the size of the tattoo i was thinking maybe on the sholder blade or the bottom side of my leg but they are not really screaming out to me. Where would you think the best place would be not just the leg or sholder blade but anywhere else. The chest is really not in the cards due to man boobs.

Fans can even buy reproductions of the bathing suits, dresses and blouses that pin-up girls wore in their most famous posters. And now, it's possible for fans of pin-up art to become their own pin-up girls: Yes, pin-up photography is now a growing field.
Do an online search for "pin-up photography." You'll turn up pages worth of photo studios across the country willing to turn you into the subject of your own pin-up poster. It's little surprise that this is becoming a hot trend. Photographers working in this field transform you into a glamorous pin-up girl, one who's sexy yet somehow innocent all at once. Pin-up photography makes a great gift. It's also a fun way to feel elegant, attractive and just a bit naughty.
The pin-up photography experience starts with makeup. Photographers will use just the right amount of makeup to transform you into an authentic Gibson Girl or turn you into a dead ringer for a George Petty model. Next comes the clothing. Quality pin-up photographers boast a wardrobe of bikinis, mini-skirts and dresses that look perfectly at home in the world of pin-up art.
Finally, it's time to take the picture. Top pin-up photographers will recreate famous pin-up poses.
