Original Watercolor Painting

How to create the style of painter and painting seen in Photoshop, without additional software?
Photographers used to buy Corel Painter, using the program to create images with a watercolor painted look. Kerri Kirshner, of Bothell, Wash., developed a simple process using only Watercolor Photoshop. We used several different brushes and sizes to create a variety of textures. Leaving part of the leaves and bark in an unpainted state retained some of the original texture of the leaves and trees. Postcards with this image were made by a company printing specializing in quality shirts for the photo industry.
Kerri Here are the instructions step by step in the creating a painted image:
- Open the original file.
- Complete all the necessary changes in its own layer.
- Create a new layer and name it "picture."
- Choose a brush and start painting on the layer copy of the image. Adjust the opacity and the flow of the brush how you want the final image to watch. Other standard brushes can be loaded into Photoshop (impressionist sketch leaf, oil, etc.).
- As the work to take notes on the brushes, sizes and opacities that I used.
- Use a separate layer for each brush or other technique you use, and the name of the brush layer the name or effect.
- Add More items as you wish, create a layer for each new addition.

The best way is just to experiment first. See what happens when you use different amounts of water. You really don't need as much as you usually think. Just take a piece of paper, and try out different brush strokes, and different mixtures of paint on it. Take as much time doing this as you need to feel comfortable. Once you feel like you know your way around, you can start trying to paint real pictures.
