artist named michaud?

I have an old oil painting signed Michaud. Does anyone have any info?? Came out of a very, very old frame and on back it reads Beaver Board 1916. Trash or treasure?? It is a landscape with mountains, water, trees...thanks in advance for any help.

What you probably have is something done by a local amateur.
The clue was 'beaver board'. Beaver board is a thin wall board made of compressed wood shavings, developed in 1903.

A google search of Michaud reveled nothing.
Perhaps this artist has some local significance. Check with you town historian.
