Since a long time several masterpieces have been prepared, depicting various aspects of the land. Today landscape artwork is said to also include the urban structures; splendid monuments built during the period of Mughal Dynasty have stimulated many talented artists to create breathtaking paintings. Since eras, artworks portraying the scenic beauty have found place in home of almost every class. It is believed that this kind of pictures play a major role in harmonizing man's existence with his external surroundings.
India has a treasure of a vast collection of Landscape Paintings as well as drawings created by well-known Indian Artists. Landscape painting flourished in India majorly because of the country's topography as well as monuments. Artists majorly utilized charcoal on paper, acrylic on canvas, acrylic/gold foil on canvas, oil painting, water color on paper and more.
Artworks demonstrating the exact replica of the beautiful spots depict the superb artistic skills of the artists. Paintings by artists using their canvas boards, stands, paints and brushes substituted the photographs years before cameras were invented. Also there were many landscape paintings which evolved just out of the painter's imagination; these include the ones with the excessive colors and vivid imaginations.
Nowadays through new technology has brought in cameras and other devices for capturing the beauty of nature; landscape art still enjoys a special place in the heart of nature lovers. Even if there are creative landscape photographers, landscape artworks are still treasured. There are thousands round the world who would pay millions just for a canvas portraying beautiful landscapes. Fat over lean: If I put a faster drying color over white, do I have to add linseed oil to it?
I am working on a desert oil painting right now, and there is some lighter colored soil that has quite a bit of white paint mixed in, and I put this layer on pretty thick because I painted it with a palette knife. I did use a few drops of Turpenoid in the paint. Now, when I put in the scrubby little trees, I will be using darker brown & green, which will dry faster. So do I add linseed oil to these colors, or don't I really have to worry about the paint cracking as it dries (violating the fat over lean rule)? Thank you!!
I am leaving it dry a few days to make it easier to paint the trees.
to be safe you could add a little linseed oil, but the shrubby trees probably won't cover a large enough area to make it crack, so I wouldn't be too worried. You might want to wait for the layer you just did to get fairly dry or you might have to worry about the darker brown and green picking up the white and getting muddy..
