James has been painting for over 25 years and has sold paintings to many satisfied customers from as far a field as Hong Kong, Italy and more recently in Germany, although James now prefers to focus his talent to portraits, he is equally at home painting landscapes and seascapes.

My mother recently bought an E.Garin seascape oil painting, how can I tell if it's original?
It's signed by E. Garin. The painting is framed with wood and has no glass over the canvas. It has the price tag on the back from the 40 year ago purchase in New York. I see no date or name of the painting. I want to know how to tell if it is original and can I get some good money for it.
